Here are some of the frequently asked questions.
What skin concerns does micro-needling treat?
Micro-needling is known to smooth, tighten and target aging areas of the face and body. Micro-needling treats and prevents wrinkles, aging skin, scars, stretch marks, acne and pitted scars, sagging skin, hyperpigmentation, UV damage, Rosacea, and Melasma.
Treating skin conditions such as Melasma and Rosacea with Micro-needling can be highly effective. If you suffer from either of these similar skin conditions, you already know there are very few ways to effectively treat your skin discoloration concerns. Micro-needling combined is one of the most effective in-studio treatment we suggest for Melasma and Rosacea.
Is it true that micro-needling boosts product absorbtion by up to 1000%
Yes, this is true. Micro-needling boosts product absorption and effectiveness by up to 1000% during the first hour after your treatment. This is why we pair your Microneedling treatment with sterile Hyaluronic Acid. The channels created by the microneedles create a conduit for maximum product absorption into the dermis layer of the skin.
What can I expect during my micro-needling treatment?
First your face is thoroughly cleansed with a gentle cleanser. Then a topical anesthetic is applied to your skin for 20 minutes before your treatment. When the treatment begins, a sterile hyaluronic acid will be applied to help the eDermastamp gently glide over your skin. The needling itself typically feels like a slight vibration, and almost like a massage with tingling on your skin. During the collagen induction process, the tiny needles in the eDermastamp will penetrate through your skin creating tiny micro-lesions. These mico-lesions will trigger the production of your very own growth factors that result in collagen production. Downtime with microneedling is minimal, however does differ from person to person. You should expect redness in the treated areas for the first 24-48 hours, and may feel similar to a mild sunburn.
During the next 48 hours post-treatment, you should avoid working out, hot showers, massages, and sun exposure. A full post- care will be given after your needling procedure.
What are the benefits of micro-needling?
Micro-needling helps with a wide array of skin issues. Our younger clients choose micro-needling to help with acne scars, and our more mature micro-needling clients choose micro-needling for things such as sun damage and wrinkles. Micro-needling results are naturally beautiful, and it’s a chemical free treatment. The results are that your skin will be thicker and collagen and elastin production will increase. The main benefit of Micro-needling is that the growth factors released trigger regenerative healing. This type of healing is comprised of type III collagen forming from the base upwards in the dermal layer.
What results can I get with Micro-needling?
Micro-needling will take on a variety of common skin care concerns, including acne, scarring, stretch marks, melasma, lines, wrinkles, texture and more. The results are smoother, thicker, tighter, more even-toned looking skin.
Inflammation begins immediately during your treatment, then an Inflammatory Response will trigger tissue generation. Your very own natural growth factors will cause your body to produce healthy tissue. New tissue Formation will continue for up to 1-year post treatment.
Treatments vary depending on skin conditions. We typically recommend between 3-6 sessions with 4-6 weeks in between sessions, with maintenance treatments 2-3X per year
